Vita Vea has been a huge part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since he entered the NFL in 2018.

However, his time with the franchise could be coming to an end. On Monday, Vea requested a trade after the two sides couldn’t agree to terms on a new contract, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

#Buccaneers two-time Pro Bowl DT Vita Vea has requested a trade after failed attempts at a contract extension, according to his agent Collin Roberts.

Vea was the 12th overall pick by the Buccaneers in 2018 after he starred in college for the Washington Huskies. In his NFL career, he has played in 112 regular-season games, totaling 256 tackles with 35 sacks.

Tampa Bay has also been pondering a contract extension with quarterback Baker Mayfield, so there are some big decisions to make around the Buccaneers facility going into the preseason slate.

As of now, Vea doesn’t have a specific team in mind regarding the trade request.

Vita Vea has not made any specific requests for exactly where he would be like the Bucs to trade him, per his agent. Just asked for a trade if he's not getting an extension beyond this season and his current deal.

Vea is currently in the final season of a four-year deal worth $71 million, but he was hoping to cash in before the season begins.

According to Spotrac, Vea’s market value is two years and just over $55.5 million, which would be an average salary of $27.8 million, a big upgrade to the current $17.75 million he is set to earn in 2026.
