Carson Palmer unsure if 2017 will be his last season
Carson Palmer is getting toward the end of his career, and there has been speculation that he will announce his retirement following the 2017 season. However, the quarterback is not willing to commit to a timetable for calling it a career.
Palmer, who has suffered two torn ACLs, said Tuesday that he has not yet made a decision about whether the upcoming season will be his last in the NFL.
Palmer said he has no idea if this is his last year. Will evaluate after the season like he does each year.

For what it’s worth, Palmer also said he was 100 percent certain he wanted to play in 2017 as soon as he realized he was healthy enough.
Carson Palmer said mentally he was "never close" to retirement. Once he felt better physically, was excited to return.

In other words, Palmer still enjoys playing football. While he turned 37 toward the end of last season, he threw for more than 4,000 yards in both 2016 and 2015. Quarterbacks like him, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Peyton Manning have proved that you can still play the position at a high level well into your 30s. Although we did list Palmer on our recent list of players who should be thinking about retirement, it would not be a shock if he plays in 2018 under the right circumstances.
