The Los Angeles Chargers have reached out to running back Melvin Gordon, but no progress has been made on ending his holdout, according to a report.
ESPN’s Josina Anderson reported Tuesday that the Chargers have contacted Gordon recently to tell him that he’s still a valued part of the team. However, the two sides are no closer to agreeing on a new contract that would end his holdout.
Progress update on #LAC RB Melvin Gordon~text yest said, "nothing at all." But I was told the team recently reached out to Gordon to say "he's still missed & still family." Though I was told LA was really happy w/ efficiency of AK & JJ vs. ARZ, told still view Gordon "as our #1."

Gordon isn’t being allowed to seek a trade, but the two sides are also currently in a standoff on his contract demands. There are indications that Gordon is willing to miss quite a bit of game time to get what he wants, too.
