Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder left Thursday night’s game against the Washington Redskins after suffering a left shoulder injury on a dive for the end zone.
Ponder was running by the sideline on a scramble late in the third quarter when he dove for the end zone. Though the call on the field was initially touchdown, the play was reversed after referees reviewed the play. Ponder had the ball knocked out of his hand a foot from the end zone.
Not only did he lose a touchdown on the play, but Ponder came up holding his left arm in pain. He was later termed out for the game with a shoulder injury.

UPDATE: The Vikings said after the game that Ponder dislocated his shoulder on the play but later had it popped back in. He hopes to play in the team’s next game.
