Report: Colts optimistic about Andrew Luck’s Week 1 status
The Indianapolis Colts have some optimism about Andrew Luck being ready for Week 1 of the NFL season, according to a report.
Luck has been ruled out for the preseason due to an injury. He’s been dealing with a calf injury for months and was kept out of minicamp because of it. This week the Colts finally admitted the injury also is an ankle problem.
Indianapolis has not been clear about Luck’s status, and some rivals believe he will not be ready in time for Week 1.
However, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported on Thursday that there is guarded optimism in Indianapolis that Luck will be ready for Week 1.
There is a "guarded optimism" about Andrew Luck being ready for the @Colts regular season opener. Guarded, for obvious reason, but maybe the optimism is a surprise

The Colts open up their season on Sept. 8 against the Chargers. Jacoby Brissett is the team’s backup and would likely start if Luck is not ready.
