Cris Collinsworth clowned for scorching hot take on Bills player
NBC Announcer Cris Collinsworth is never shy to give off hot takes on the broadcast. One such take during Saturday’s Buffalo Bills-Los Angeles Chargers matchup had several fans raising their eyebrows.
The Chargers hosted the Bills a day before Christmas Eve at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis had a monster first half with 110 yards and a touchdown on just 3 catches.
Davis’ strong performance prompted Collinsworth to say that the Bills wideout “has a little Deebo Samuel in him.”
Collinsworth’s take comparing Davis to the San Francisco 49ers star did not sit well with fans on X.
BRO CHRIS COLLINSWORTH JUST SAID GABE DAVIS HAS A LITTLE DEEBO SAMUEL IN HIM š

Even a few Bills fans couldn’t believe the comparison.
Collinsworth just said Davis has a little Deebo Samuel in him. Come on, man. lol #BillsMafia

Iām 100% convinced that Cris Collinsworth does ZERO prep before games heās on.
Itās cringeworthy.
Go Bills.
Gabe Davis is nothing like Deebo.#BillsMafia

Davis at least made the argument compelling for one game given he had his fingerprints all over the first half. Davis recorded this beauty — a 57-yard touchdown — moments before Collinsworth compared him to Samuel.

Davis is known for having huge performances every once in a while. It’s his lack of consistency that places players like Samuel head and shoulders above Davis.
Davis had 0 receptions in 4 of the Bills’ last 6 games. He tallied 8 total catches for 161 yards in those games. Samuel, on the other hand, has 29 catches for 485 yards in his last 6 games.
The 49ers star also has 5 rushing touchdowns this season. Davis only has 2 carries for -2 yards for his career.
Davis can look like a world-beater for some games. But fans clearly don’t think he resembles Samuel like Collinsworth suggested.
