David Irving was activated to the Dallas Cowboys’ roster for Week 5 against the Houston Texans, but he will miss the game and not make the trip due to a personal matter.
Cowboys reporter Clarence Hill Jr. says Irving is going through a personal family matter that is out of his control and the team is supporting him.

This is an interesting development for the Cowboys. Both Stephen and Jerry Jones said on Friday they expected Irving to play in the game.
Irving missed training camp for the Cowboys due to personal issues. He was also suspended the first four games of the season for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. The year before, he was suspended for violating the PED policy.
Irving had seven sacks in eight games last season.
