The more time that passes, the more unlikely it seems that the Minnesota Vikings will trade Adrian Peterson. But if Peterson did manage to force his way out of town, Dez Bryant would “love” it if he joined the Dallas Cowboys.
TMZ caught up with Bryant over the weekend, and the Pro Bowl wide receiver had no problem expressing his admiration for Peterson.
“Truthfully, if that could happen I would love it,” Bryant said. “We’re both from East Texas. We believe in the same thing. As much as he loves the game, I love the game the same way. I think it would be something very special.”
However, Bryant has little doubt that the Vikings will hold onto their star running back.
“The Vikings not letting that happen,” he said. “Because if they did, the league knows what would happen. … That man’s a monster. He’s something special.”
The Vikings held Peterson through the draft, which will make it incredibly difficult to trade him. Now that AP realizes he is likely stuck in Minnesota, he’s trying to get more guaranteed money from the Vikings.
We know Peterson would love to play for the Cowboys, because he practically admitted it. Dallas has to find a way to replace the power running game that made its offense so successful last year with DeMarco Murray, and Peterson would help fill that void. Although, Tony Romo seems to think his team will be all set either way.
