Doug Baldwin says he will have to deal with knee injury all season

Doug Baldwin

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin has been battling a knee injury since the start of training camp, but Pete Carroll said he has been getting up to speed and will be ready to play in Week 1. However, Baldwin does not expect to feel 100 percent healthy.

In fact, Baldwin told reporters on Tuesday that the knee injury is something he is going to have to play through all season. He estimated that he is 80-85 percent healthy at the moment and probably won’t be 100 percent at any point in 2018.

“The truth of the matter is that it won’t be 100 percent,” Baldwin said. “It’s something I have to deal with the rest of the season.”

That’s obviously a pretty big concern, as Baldwin will turn 30 later this month and the Seahawks are already dealing with some other injuries to key players. Baldwin has been Seattle’s best receiver and Russell Wilson’s favorite target for several seasons now, and he has not missed a game since 2012. While he may continue that trend this year, you have to wonder if his effectiveness will be limited in any way.
