Dwayne Haskins shares compliment Tom Brady gave him after game

Dwayne Haskins has not been given many opportunities in his first NFL season, but the rookie quarterback had a nice chat on Sunday with the greatest player to ever play the position.

Haskins and Tom Brady shook hands on the field and had a brief exchange following the New England Patriots’ 33-7 win over the Washington Redskins on Sunday, and Haskins tweeted about it on Monday. He said Brady, who went to Michigan, complimented the former Ohio State star on never losing to the Wolverines during his college career.

The words of encouragement probably came at a good time for Haskins, whose only playing time this season came when he threw three interceptions after Case Keenum was benched in a blowout loss to the New York Giants two weeks ago. Some thought the No. 15 overall pick would get more chances to play now that Jay Gruden has been fired, but interim head coach Bill Callahan said Monday that Haskins is not in consideration to start at the moment.
