Eminem is a Frustrated Cowboys Fan But He Believes in Tony Romo

Anyone who listens to Eminem’s lyrics or has seen the movie 8 Mile knows Marshall Mathers is proud to be from Detroit. This year would have been a great year for Slim Shady to root for the Lions, but that ship has already sailed. In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Eminem explained that he is a Cowboys fan because the Lions were so bad when he was younger that he had to hop off the bandwagon. Being a Dallas fan, this year left him frustrated. However, Eminem is not ready to give up on Tony Romo just yet.

“I hate to sound (expletive) cliché, but I truly believe that Romo gives them the best chance to win,” he said in the interview according to the Dallas Morning News. “It’s very frustrating to watch them week in, and week out. They blew all those fourth quarter leads this year. Man, it’s hard to be a football fan. You get invested in your teams and it literally can ruin your entire (expletive) week. And just for the record — I am a Lions fan first and foremost. But growing up as a kid, the Lions were so bad for so long, that I picked up another team in the Cowboys.”

Being a “Lions fan first” but actually a Cowboys fan doesn’t sit well with me, but we won’t get into that. Believe it or not, I think Eminem’s opinion of the Cowboys is one that is shared by most of the fanbase.  People are sick of Romo’s choking ways, but everyone knows he’s talented.

Romo has guaranteed that this particular Dallas team will win a Super Bowl, but that can only happen if he stops making mistakes at crucial moments in big games.  It would also help if he could stay healthy, which is out of his control.  It’s time for the Cowboys to step up and make a run next season.  B-Rabbit still believes in you despite your recent failures. What more could you ask for?
