Giants coach says team will stick with Eli Manning at QB
Eli Manning has looked like a shell of his former self through six games this season, and the calls for the New York Giants to make a change at quarterback are getting louder by the week. According to the man responsible for making that decision, Manning will continue to be the guy.
On Friday, a day after his team was pounded 34-13 by the Philadelphia Eagles, Giants coach Pat Shurmur expressed confidence in Manning and said he remains the starter going forward.

Shurmur is in his first season as the head coach in New York, and he saw how things went for the last guy who benched Manning. It was no coincidence that Ben McAdoo was fired last season not long after telling Eli to take a seat on the bench, as fans were outraged that he would kick the two-time Super Bowl champion to the curb in favor of Geno Smith.
That said, things seem a bit different now. Manning looks completely incapable of getting the ball down the field, and even one of his own teammates made some unflattering remarks about him in public. Many Giants fans are ready for a change, but the team opted to draft Saquon Barkley in the first round this year rather than picking a QB. New York may have to wait until next offseason to officially move on from the Manning era.
