Report: Jadeveon Clowney close to being traded to Seahawks
Jadeveon Clowney is seeking a trade to the Seattle Seahawks and close to getting his wish, according to a report.
NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported on Saturday that Seattle is deep in trade talks with the Houston Texans to acquire Clowney.
The #Seahawks are deep in talks to acquire franchise player Jadeveon Clowney from the #Texans, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. Clowney has told people he wants to be in Seattle. Still some hoops to jump through, but it’s headed toward him getting his wish.

Clowney was franchise-taged by the Houston Texans this offseason but has not signed his tender yet, which would pay him $16 million for the season. The Miami Dolphins were said to be trying to acquire the former No. 1 overall pick, but he reportedly does not want to play there and instead prefers Seattle or Philadelphia.
The Seahawks have a need for pass rushers. Jarran Reed has been suspended the first six games of the year and Frank Clark was traded to Kansas City. Seattle signed Ziggy Ansah, but he’s coming off shoulder surgery and they are looking for more help. Clowney would provide that.
