Jaguars boast about big defensive game with ‘Sacksonville’ nickname
The Jacksonville Jaguars are embracing a new identity following a big win in their season debut on Sunday.
The new-look Jags ripped the Houston Texans 29-7 in Week 1. They amassed a franchise-record 10 sacks in the game, including four alone by big off-season signing, Calais Campbell.
In response to the huge game from the defense, the Jags renamed themselves “Sacksonville” on Twitter.

The Jags got a road win over a divisional opponent, and they claimed victory in their season opener for the first time since 2011. There were a lot of reasons for the Jags to celebrate the win. And there’s nothing wrong with getting the fans to embrace a new identity surrounding the team’s rebuilt defense.
