Jay Ajayi out for season with torn ACL
The Philadelphia Eagles made a surprising move on Monday when they placed Jay Ajayi on injured reserve, and apparently the running back quietly suffered a major knee injury during Sunday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ajayi suffered a torn ACL.

Ajayi had been battling a slight fracture in his back, but he was playing through the injury and still appeared to be running with some power. Eagles coach Doug Pederson has been going with a committee approach at running back this season, and Ajayi’s injury will leave the team without its best option out of the backfield.
