Jeff Fisher responds to ‘absurd’ report about Jared Goff
Jared Goff appears to be closer and closer to being ready to play for the Los Angeles Rams, which led Rams head coach Jeff Fisher to blast a report saying otherwise.
Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole reported on Tuesday that Goff, the Rams’ No. 1 overall draft pick, was “a long way away from playing.”
On Wednesday, Fisher was asked about that report and said the thought of Cole, who isn’t around the Rams frequently, reporting the information was “absurd.”

Meanwhile, signs indicate that Goff is getting closer to playing than at any point this season. He took first-team reps with the offense on Wednesday and expressed confidence afterwards.
Jared Goff today: “I feel tremendously more comfortable than I’ve ever felt. I feel confident that if my number is called, I’ll be ready”

The Rams have a bye this week, so the plan was to get Goff first-team reps. Los Angeles hosts Carolina on Nov. 6 in Week 9 for its next game.
Starting quarterback Case Keenum is coming off of a 4-interception game and has thrown 10 picks this season.
