Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not hiding from the importance of Sunday’s game against Micah Parsons and the Green Bay Packers.

The Cowboys will host the Packers on Sunday night, marking Parsons’ return to Dallas for the first time since he was traded last month. While many might seek to downplay the significance of that sort of meeting, Jones is not one of them.

When asked in his weekly radio interview on 105.3 The Fan if the game held extra meaning and importance for him, Jones did not hesitate.

“Yes, I do,” Jones said. “I think the world of Micah, and I might say I wish him well, but it’s obvious I don’t this weekend. It makes for an exciting time.”

Beyond getting the Cowboys’ season on track, Jones has a pretty big personal stake in this game. He has repeatedly asserted that he made the team better by trading Parsons amid a contract dispute, though few outsiders agree with him. If the Cowboys can back him up and beat Green Bay, he will have a big opportunity to rub it in the faces of his doubters.

The problem for the Cowboys is they certainly have not looked better since trading Parsons. They are 1-2, and their lone win came against a winless New York Giants team in overtime. Their defense has looked particularly porous, while Parsons has 1.5 sacks already in his first three games with Green Bay.
