Jim Harbaugh has been the perfect embodiment of a football lifer. His quote about facing his brother John on Monday only reinforced that.
Jim’s Los Angeles Chargers took on John’s Baltimore Ravens in a “Harbaugh Bowl” rematch at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The sibling-related storyline loomed large over the clash between two projected AFC playoff teams.
Before the game, Jim Harbaugh was asked about what he was feeling before taking on his brother. His answer could not have been more on-brand.

“I love my brother and I’d lay down my life for my brother,” said Jim Harbaugh of his older brother John. “But I wouldn’t let him win a football game.”

For Jim Harbaugh, football is more serious than life itself. It feels like every quote Jim gives to the media affirms that.
Jim famously refused to hug his brother John after the latter got the better of him in Super Bowl 47. While there isn’t a trophy on the line during Monday’s game, it’s clear that Jim is dead set on getting at least a small ounce of revenge.
