Jim Kelly’s wife says latest cancer surgery ‘went well’
Legendary Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly has been battling cancer for five years, and he underwent the latest of his many procedures on Thursday. According to his wife, Jill, the most recent surgery was a success.
Jill Kelly wrote on Instagram that her husband’s surgical procedure in New York “went well.”
“Never stop holding hands. In sickness and in health. Out of surgery and in recovery,” Mrs. Kelly wrote. “Still in a lot of pain, but everything went well. Thank GOD! No teeth yet, but 5 implants were inserted into the new bone in Jim’s upper jaw. More technical than I can explain… What matters most is what’s happening in this picture. Never take it for granted! Glory to God!”
Kelly has undergone chemotherapy and radiation therapy in addition to numerous surgeries, and the strength he has shown while battling the disease has been remarkable. He has even managed to maintain a presence with the Bills, which is something that blew rookie quarterback Josh Allen away earlier in the offseason. Here’s hoping Kelly continues along the path to recovery.
