JJ Watt shares funny advice ahead of free agency

JJ Watt on the field

The NFL’s free agency tampering window officially opened on Monday, and JJ Watt offered some advice for how to sift through all the rumors that will pour in over the next several days.

Watt sent a funny tweet sharing some of his thoughts on free agency. He said there are plenty of reports every year that are “comically far off-base and at times have literally zero truth.” He also reminded fans to never trust a Peloton profile page as a source of official news.

What I learned in free agency last year:

Rumors, sources & reports can be comically far off-base and at times have literally zero truth.

There don’t have to be leaks. If a team/player want to keep things quiet, they can.

(and don’t ever trust a Peloton bio as a source of news)

Watt was a free agent last offseason. He eventually signed a two-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals, but speculation about his future was rampant before that. At one point, it looked like Watt dropped a major hint about his plans in what was supposedly his Peloton bio. That turned out to be nothing.

Even Watt’s own brother trolled him about his free agency last year, so no one is more familiar with the frenzy than JJ. The advice means something coming from him.
