JJ Watt will need to be monitored for infection with open dislocation of finger
JJ Watt is not expected to miss any time after he suffered a dislocated finger in Sunday’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but team doctors will have to monitor to injury closely in the coming days.
Watt’s dislocated finger was actually an open dislocation, meaning there is a wound associated with it. While it won’t keep him from suiting up, he may need to take antibiotics given his history with infections.
JJ Watt's open dislocation is something he can play through. Worry is infection, so Texans will monitor this CLOSELY.

Watt has suffered a number of injuries over the past two years, but he said last year that the most frightening health complication was a staph infection in his knee that nearly resulted in him needing an amputation.
While a finger injury may not seem like much, any significant wound is a concern for Watt. Expect doctors to take every precaution necessary.
