Johnny Manziel dropped by LeBron James’ marketing agency

Johnny Manziel

LeBron James recently said he’s concerned about Johnny Manziel and hopes the Browns quarterback “figures it out a some point.” Now, Manziel is no longer represented by James’ marketing agency.

LRMR had represented Manziel for endorsements deals. However, the company has decided to shift its focus away from endorsement deals, which played a part in LRMR letting Manziel go.

“We’ve decided to end our formal business relationship with Johnny,” Maverick Carter told Cleveland.com.

“I will continue to support and advise him as a friend,” Carter said. “However, because Johnny needs to focus on personal growth, the next phase of his career and because LRMR continues to expand beyond marketing, we made the mutual decision that it was best to terminate our business relationship.”

To say it’s been a tumultuous season for Manziel would be quite the understatement. From party videos to him not showing up at Browns headquarters on Sunday, the 23-year-old has found himself in the news for the wrong reasons much more than the team would like.

It’s a distinct possibility LRMR won’t be the only ones to cut ties with Manziel. The way things have been going, it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see the Browns follow suit and release the troubled quarterback. He likely won’t be out of work for long, though. That said, before he returns to the football field we can only hope Manziel focuses on personal growth, like Maverick Carter stated.
