The New York Jets have been the worst team in the NFL as the halfway point in the 2025 season quickly approaches, and no one is more disgusted with them than Jon Gruden.
Gruden and his co-hosts gave their NFL predictions for Week 8 on the latest episode of the Barstool Sports “Pro Football Football Show,” which aired on FOX One Thursday. When it came time to discuss the Jets’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Gruden went out of his way to show his disdain for the 0-7 Jets.
Gruden gave the Jets no chance to beat the Bengals on the road. The former Super Bowl champion cited the injuries that New York is dealing with. Gruden then quoted Dr. Seuss.
“Sauce Gardner’s hurt and he’s not gonna play anyway. Garrett Wilson’s hurt. We said it last week, they have nobody to throw to,” Gruden said. “I don’t like the Jets. I’m like ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ — I don’t like the Jets here, I don’t like ’em there, I don’t like the Jets anywhere. I hate the Jets.”
Did you ever read that book 'Green Eggs & Ham'

Gruden then gushed about the job Joe Flacco has done in the quarterback’s first two games with the Bengals.
“I have just become an official Joe Flacco fan for life. What he’s doing is absolutely remarkable, the second half against Green Bay, four quarters on a short week against the Steelers,” Gruden said. “Flacco can do the one thing I like my quarterback to do, and that’s throw the ball. They got some dudes now who can catch it. (Tee) Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase are back. I love the Bengals to win this game, cover and make the Jets miserable.”
Even Jets owner Woody Johnson might agree with Gruden at this point.
Justin Fields has been a disaster thus far after the Jets signed him to a two-year, $40 million deal during the offseason. He was benched in New York’s Week 7 loss to the Carolina Panthers, but Tyrod Taylor is banged up heading into Sunday’s game and may not be able to play.
One thing is for certain — Gruden will be stunned if the Jets find a way to notch their first victory.
