As the New England Patriots look ahead to their playoff matchup in the Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs, they are set to get back one of their biggest offensive weapons for the first time in weeks.
According to a report by Joe Amorosino of 7News Boston WHDH, wide receiver Julian Edelman has been cleared to play in Saturday’s game. Edelman has been out with a broken foot since Week 10 and will wear a steel plate in his left shoe as a precaution.

Edelman had been progressing slowly in his recovery since making a surprise return to practice in Week 14 but now appears to finally be ready to make his return. With quarterback Tom Brady looking to be fine after spraining his ankle in Week 17, the Patriots are approaching full-strength as they move into the homestretch of their Super Bowl defense.
The versatile 29-year-old wideout will be vital against a Chiefs defense that gave up the ninth-fewest passing yards during the regular season (per ESPN). The Pats are currently listed as five-point favorites at home, and a solid outing from a healthy Edelman may help them outperform that line.
