After suffering a stress fracture in his shin that sidelined him for his entire rookie season, Chicago Bears wide receiver Kevin White is looking at another extended absence.
Bears general manager Ryan Pace announced on Wednesday that White has been placed on injured reserve after sustaining a fractured left fibula and a high ankle sprain. Pace also noted that surgery will be an option as well.

The 24-year-old White was selected by the team No. 7 overall in the 2015 NFL Draft and had logged 19 receptions for 187 yards in his first four games this season. He was hurt in the third quarter of Chicago’s 17-14 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
For White, who appeared to have fully recovered from the issue that cost him his whole rookie year, this latest ailment is particularly worrisome because it’s to the same left leg where he initially suffered that stress fracture.
White will now miss a minimum of eight weeks thanks to the injured reserve designation. But given the context of his injury, it would not be a shock if White’s 2016 season is in fact over.
