Seahawks LB KJ Wright unlikely to play vs. Packers, focusing on stretch run
Seattle Seahawks linebacker KJ Wright missed the first six games of the year after undergoing offseason knee surgery, and he is now dealing with swelling related to the procedure. While he’s confident the issue is not one that will keep him out long-term, Wright does not expect to play on Thursday night.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network spoke with Wright, and the veteran said there’s only a “slim” chance he will play against the Green Bay Packers. He says he felt fine for a few weeks after Seattle’s bye but was in “brutal” pain last week in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Wright is one of the most important players on the Seahawks’ defense now that they have lost most of the key pieces from the “Legion of Boom,” so the timing of his injury is not ideal with the team 4-5 and fighting for a playoff spot. Green Bay’s offense has looked a lot better lately with the emergence of running back Aaron Jones, which means players are going to have to step up in Wright’s absence.
If the Seahawks can find a way to beat the Packers, Wright will have 10 days to rest up before Week 12.
