Report: Le’Veon Bell facing four-game suspension for missing drug test
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is reportedly facing the possibility of a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
As Dan Graziano of ESPN reports, the situation is somewhat unique. Bell did not test positive for anything, but rather missed a drug test. The Steelers have known for weeks that he could be facing a suspension and are awaiting the outcome of the appeals process. If the decision is not overturned, Bell will miss the first four games of the 2016 season.
If you remember, Bell was suspended for the first three games of the season last year after he was arrested for possession of marijuana and driving while under the influence. He reportedly made a classic remark to police just before he was taken into custody.
D’Angelo Williams was outstanding filling in for Bell last year after the former Michigan State star suffered a season-ending injury, so the Steelers would likely lean on the veteran again if Bell is out to start the year.
