A longtime morning show host has officially announced his departure from NFL Network.
Peter Schrager on Monday co-hosted his final episode of “Good Morning Football,” which is NFL Network’s flagship show. While he did not say where he is headed, Schrager confirmed that the “rumors are true” about his departure.
“Today is my last day on ‘Good Morning Football,'” Schrager said. “I am with great feelings. We’re gonna celebrate today. I love everyone on this show. It’s all good, but this will be the last episode I will be on this program. With a heavy heart, I’m stepping away. But it’s also for good reasons and for a bright future, and hopefully we’ll all still be crossing paths and we can talk about ball elsewhere and it’ll be fine.”

While he stopped short of confirming it, Schrager referenced the Friday report from Michael McCarthy and Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports, which said Schrager has been in serious discussions to sign with ESPN. It sounds like that deal is in place.
In addition to hosting “Good Morning Football,” Schrager also works as a reporter for FOX. He has been part of FOX’s NFL pregame show every Sunday during the season. The 42-year-old has seen his role at FOX grow in recent years and delivers scoops for the network along with longtime reporter Jay Glazer.
Schrager will be leaving FOX as well to reportedly appear on a number of programs across ESPN’s lineup.
Schrager had hosted “Good Morning Football” since 2016.
