Marshal Yanda accuses Jeffery Simmons of spitting in his face
Marshal Yanda accused Jeffery Simmons of some inappropriate conduct during Saturday night’s AFC playoff game between the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens.
Yanda, who plays right guard for the Ravens, accused Simmons of spitting in his face during the game. Yanda typically keeps such accusations out of the media, but he said he decided to share it so Simmons could be put “on notice” for the rest of the league.
Yanda said Simmons Spit in his face. First time I’ve ever heard Yanda call out an opponent. Said Simmons’ conduct was very poor and he needs to be put on notice.

Marshal Yanda says “No. 98,” Titans rookie DL Jeffery Simmons, spat in his face in the second or third quarter.
“There’s no place for that in the NFL.” He wanted to put the NFL on notice.

In his comments, Yanda said Simmons’ conduct was “ridiculous.”

Why would Yanda want to share that message now? There is some speculation that he could retire. He is 35 and signed a two-year deal that takes him through next season, but he could still walk away from the game.
Simmons, who attended Mississippi State, was a first-round pick by Tennessee. The rookie defensive lineman beat up a woman in a now-infamous video that occurred while he was in high school.
