Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys finally agreed to a contract extension on Wednesday, and as expected it was the richest for a running back in NFL history. It also made players before him like Matt Forte very, very jealous.
After word surfaced that Elliott has signed a six-year, $90 million contract extension with the Cowboys that includes a whopping $50 million guaranteed, Forte tweeted that he wishes he was born later.

Forte was one of the best running backs in football during his time with the Chicago Bears, but the biggest contract he signed was nowhere close to Elliott’s deal. Forte signed a four-year contract with the Bears in 2012 that was worth $32 million and had $17 million in guarantees. Zeke got roughly three times that. Of course, it’s all relative to the market and salary cap.
Even Kurt Warner, who was a Super Bowl-winning quarterback, was envious of the money Elliott got.
Weren’t we all brother… weren’t we all!!

We’ve seen plenty of funny reactions to Elliott’s deal, but few were surprised by it. He insisted on being the highest-paid running back in football all along, and Jerry Jones wasn’t about to let the holdout impact what should be a successful season in Dallas.
