Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers thinks his team can “run the table” the rest of the way, and coach Mike McCarthy is a big fan of that bravado.
McCarthy backed his quarterback’s belief that the Packers are good enough to win their last six games, and cited that proclamation as evidence that despite their recent struggles, the Packers aren’t lacking in belief.
“I love it,” McCarthy said, via Ryan Wood of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “It’s an expression of confidence. That’s a statement that he made. I read about it just like everybody else. I think it just shows what’s going on internally, but the fact of the matter is we have to win the next game.”
Rodgers has made very clear what his teammates need to do to get where they want to be. It still hasn’t happened. The fact that he’s projecting confidence might help, but when the defense has given up 153 points over the course of their four game losing streak, something needs to change quickly.
