Mike McDaniel reveals why Dolphins have made No. 24 the focus this season
Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel is focused on ending the team’s lengthy playoff victory drought, and he and his staff are setting themselves constant reminders over it.
The Dolphins have not won a playoff game in 24 years. To that end, he and his coaching staff have been scheduling meetings with start times at 24 minutes past the hour to represent that.
Talk about doing things with intent…
Mike McDaniel said his staff schedules meeting at times that end in “24” (3:24, 5:24, 7:24, etc.) to represent the 24 years it’s been since the Dolphins have won a playoff game
Miami hoping to snap that drought in 2024

Winning a playoff game is the next step for McDaniel, and he knows that. The Dolphins have reached the postseason in each of his two seasons, but lost in the Wild Card round each time. It may be an unusual tactic, but if it puts the drought in the minds of players, it might be worth something.
One big issue? Under McDaniel, the Dolphins have garnered a reputation for beating up on bad teams and losing to good ones. That will have to change if the drought is going to end.
