Mitchell Trubisky underwent shoulder surgery following season
Mitchell Trubisky dealt with a hip injury late in the season that some thought the Chicago Bears used as an excuse to bench him at one point, but it turns out the quarterback actually played through a number of significant injuries in 2019.
Trubisky also suffered an injury to his non-throwing shoulder in Chicago’s Week 4 game against the Minnesota Vikings, and ESPN’s Jeff Dickerson reports that the former first-round pick underwent surgery to address the injury after the season ended. He is expected to be sidelined for two months.
Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky underwent surgery to repair the partially torn labrum in his left, non-throwing shoulder shortly after the conclusion of the regular season. The typical recovery time for a minor procedure such as this is a couple of months.

Trubisky missed around a month with the injury, and Bears fans weren’t exactly kind to him when he returned. However, the fact that Trubisky underwent surgery shows the shoulder was never really 100 percent healed even after he returned.
The Bears have committed to Trubisky as their quarterback heading into next season, and perhaps they feel injuries played a role in him having another disappointing season. Trubisky finished the year with just 3,138 passing, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, which was a very similar stat line to the one he posted in 2018.
