NFC Championship lawsuit dismissed by Louisiana Supreme Court
A lawsuit filed by a bitter fan over the outcome of the NFC Championship game has officially been dismissed.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, the lawsuit has been dismissed with prejudice by the Louisiana Supreme Court, bringing to an end legal efforts to seek damages from the no-call that likely cost the New Orleans Saints a Super Bowl berth.

Legal action over that outcome was always highly unlikely to succeed. Even the Saints urged the court to dismiss the suit, citing the fact that the NFL had addressed concerns by making pass interference calls reviewable.
While the news may be unsurprising, it will be very welcome for the NFL. The suit could have ultimately led to Roger Goodell giving a deposition, which was the last thing the league would’ve wanted.
