Nick Foles agrees to four-year deal with Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars entered the offseason searching for a new starting quarterback, and they have landed the one they were linked to from the start.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL media, the Jaguars have agreed to sign former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles to a four-year, $88 million deal. The contract has a maximum value of $102 million.
The #Jaguars had Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles as their top target. Per @MikeGarafolo he gets 4 years and $88M. Large.

Adam Schefter added that Foles will earn just over $50 million guaranteed.
Foles was Jacksonville’s top target all along, which makes sense considering his success filling in for an injured Carson Wentz over the past two years. The Jags had a disastrous season in 2018 after reaching the AFC Championship the year before, and many believe they are a quality starting QB away from championship contention.
The Jaguars had been waiting for the Foles situation to shake out before parting ways with Blake Bortles, but they are expected to part ways with him now.
The #Jaguars are expected to release QB Blake Bortles when QB Nick Foles’ deal is official and signed, I’m told. Will be a few days. But Bortles will be free.

If Foles can avoid the types of mistakes Bortles was prone to, the Jaguars should be in much better shape with him under center.
