Niners WR Dante Pettis explains cat TD celebration
San Francisco 49ers rookie Dante Pettis provided an explanation for his uncommon touchdown celebration during Week 1.
In the Niners’ season opener against the Minnesota Vikings, Pettis was on the receiving end of a 22-yard pass from Jimmy Garoppolo for San Francisco’s first touchdown of the season. Following the score, Pettis celebrated in unusual fashion – pretending to rub his hand by his helmet.

Pettis provided some insight to his celebration, which, as he explains, was him mimicking a cat.
REPORTER: How'd you celebrate (your TD)?
PETTIS: I did my cat celebration.REPORTER: How does that go?
PETTIS: So you just act like you're licking your paw and clean yourself real quick. That's all it is.#49ers pic.twitter.com/aVhj4OFmd6

We are early in the season so there will be countless touchdown celebrations between now and the end of the season. That will likely be the only one that mimics a feline.
