Referees allow controversial Jaguars interception to stand
The referees in Sunday’s AFC wild-card playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars allowed a controversial interception call to stand, sealing the win for the Jags.
After Tyrod Taylor was knocked out of the game with a head injury in the final two minutes, Nathan Peterman entered at quarterback for the Bills. On a 2nd-and-20 play at the 48, Peterman threw a pass that was tipped by Jalen Ramsey, who dove to make the interception. The ruling on the field was an interception, but since it appeared the ball may have hit the ground first, the officials reviewed the play.

The officials let the call on the field stand upon review. Had it been ruled that the ball hit the ground, the Bills would have been able to maintain possession around midfield and still had a shot to come back.
The interception allowed Jacksonville to kneel down for the win and capture a 10-3 victory. They will face the Steelers in the divisional round of the playoffs.
