Report updates relationship status for Aaron Rodgers, Shailene Woodley

Aaron Rodgers with Shailene Woodley in Hawaii

Neither Aaron Rodgers nor Shailene Woodley have confirmed the recent reports that they called off their engagement, and it sounds like that is because they are still trying to make the relationship work.

A source told US Weekly that Rodgers and Woodley had broken up and remain separated. However, Woodley is open to reconciling now that the NFL season is over.

“Things are different now, but they were definitely over,” the insider said. “Now that Aaron is in [the] offseason, he has more downtime and can focus more on a relationship. Shailene is understanding and open — she hasn’t shut the door completely or [she] would’ve never agreed to meet up with him.”

The couple is said to be “talking things through and trying to keep things private.” As many suspected, the relationship progressed so quickly two years ago because Rodgers and Woodley were able to spend much more time together at the start of the pandemic.

“Everything was so different during lockdown, and they had been living in their bubble, another source told US. “Friends of Shailene didn’t believe Aaron is the best match for her.”

Rodgers was given an opportunity to acknowledge the supposed split between him and his fiancee during his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week. He did not and instead gushed about the actress. There was also speculation that Woodley was at his house during the interview, and some internet detective work appeared to confirm that.

Rodgers has yet to announce if he plans to play in 2022. You have to wonder if his relationship with Woodley will factor into the decision.
