Rob Gronkowski only willing to return for 1 team
Rob Gronkowski is still pondering whether he wants to play in 2022, but the star tight end has made at least one key decision about his future.
JC Cornell of The Draft Network spoke with Gronkowski on Saturday night, and Gronk said he is 50/50 on playing next season. If he does return, he said it will only be for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
That is not a huge surprise, especially after Tom Brady changed his mind about retirement. Gronk had not made any commitments before Brady’s big announcement, but it seemed like he was infatuated with a certain AFC quarterback. Now that Brady is playing, it is Bucs or retirement for Gronkowski.
Despite missing several weeks with a rib injury, Gronkowski caught 55 passes for 802 yards and six touchdowns last season. The 32-year-old is still capable of producing when healthy. Brady already convinced Gronk to come out of retirement once, so we’re guessing the quarterback can get his buddy to run it back one more time.
