Report: Russell Okung heading to Denver for $10.6 million per year

The Denver Broncos have yet to settle on a quarterback for 2016, but whoever it is, they’re making sure he’ll have ample protection.
The Broncos have reportedly agreed to terms with left tackle Russell Okung on a five year deal worth about $10.6 million annually, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
Sources tell me that OT Russell Okung is close to finalizing a 5-year deal with the Denver #Broncos worth $10.6M per year.

Okung did well with this deal, particularly when you consider that he acted as his own agent here, so he’ll be keeping all of that cash. The deal likely opens the door for a trade of incumbent left tackle Ryan Clady.
We still don’t know who Okung will be protecting, however. It may well be Colin Kaepernick, though the team hasn’t been willing to meet the asking price. Reportedly, Ryan Fitzpatrick has also been mentioned as a possibility.
