Austin Carr and his wife recently welcomed a new baby son into the world, but there were some complications.
Carr, who was a restricted free agent, re-signed with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday. He shared on Friday that he tested positive for antibodies for COVID-19, which he says makes sense since he had symptoms around March.
Carr’s wife Erica gave birth to their son, Clive, on April 4. As part of hospital protocol, she had to get tested for the coronavirus and found out that she was positive. Erica did not have many symptoms, and their son tested negative.
“Luckily, Erica wasn’t feeling under the weather, she wasn’t feeling super sick and neither was I. We’re pretty sure that I had it a little while ago, because I got an antibody test which came back positive. I don’t know how credible it is, but from what I can tell it is. And I also had symptoms about a month, maybe a half-month before Clive was born. Clive’s (test) came back negative,” Carr said via the Saints’ website.
What matters most is that all three of them seem to be doing well now.
Carr, 26, played college ball at Northwestern. He has 10 career catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns and is a special teams player.
