Saquon Barkley exits Week 3 game with ankle injury
Saquon Barkley took a few hard hits during Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the New York Giants star had to be helped to the locker room after one of them.
Barkley suffered an ankle injury on a low hit in the open field late in the first half. You could see his left leg bend awkwardly underneath him, and he needed help limping to the locker room after the play.
Hoping this is just an ankle sprain. Prayers to Saquon #GiantsPride pic.twitter.com/6otAaZW14T

Barkley was also shaken up earlier in the game after he was hit in the head, but he left briefly before returning. The ankle injury looked like it has the potential to knock him out for at least the rest of Sunday’s game.
With rookie Daniel Jones having taken over for Eli Manning, having Barkley on the field is more important than ever. The Giants’ offense operates through the second-year running back, and there will be far more pressure on Jones if Barkley misses time.
