Who says the NFL transaction wire can’t be interesting midway through the season?
The Seattle Seahawks spice things up on Tuesday by releasing running back Christine Michael.
Michael is the team’s leading running back this season, as he has posted 469 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. However, the former second-round pick has fallen out of favor recently and was surpassed on the depth chart by C.J. Prosise, who saw the majority of the action at running back on Sunday night against the Patriots. The Notre Dame rookie rushed for 66 yards on 17 carries and caught 7 passes against the Pats.
The move also signifies Thomas Rawls is ready to roll. Rawls suffered a hairline fracture to his fibula in Week 2.
With both Prosise and Rawls around, the Seahawks apparently felt they no longer needed to keep Michael on the roster.
