Terrell Owens went after Cris Carter on Wednesday, accusing him of begging his way into the Hall of Fame.
Owens appeared on ESPN’s Mike and Mike and went after the former Vikings receiver and current ESPN analyst.
“[Cris Carter] is a guy that’s criticized me plenty of times, for anything,” Owens said, via Sports Illustrated. “For me, that was something that motivated me….For somebody like that, for Cris Carter to come out and say something like that, I just felt like it was disrespectful. And so now, when you look at where I am statistically, I’ve surpassed him. And from what I’ve heard, from a lot of guys, he begged his way into the Hall of Fame.”
Owens did concede that Carter deserves his spot in the Hall, but this is pretty scathing and out of nowhere. Owens, of course, was denied entry in last week’s vote. Perhaps he’s just bitter that Carter is in and he isn’t yet.
