Tim Tebow Meeting with Prep QB Jacob Rainey, Who Lost Leg

Jacob Rainey is 6’3″, 215 pounds, and he had a cannon for an arm as a high school quarterback in Virginia. The junior also ran a 4.61 in the 40-yard dash, and was drawing interest from several ACC schools (his highlight video is above). Sadly, Rainey got hurt in a scrimmage on September 3rd and had to have part of his right leg amputated. Now he’s become an inspiration for several football figures, including Tim Tebow, whose foundation has invited Rainey to attend the Bills-Broncos game Saturday.

“What an amazing kid and what an amazing outlook that he has,” Tebow said of Rainey, whose playing style was frequently compared to Tebow. “I’m so proud to have the opportunity to spend time with him and his family. We’re very excited about that.”

Tebow’s foundation is paying for the trip, and the Broncos quarterback plans to hang out with Rainey before and after the game. Rainey, who missed the entire first trimester at Woodberry Forest, returned to school after Thanksgiving break. His upbeat attitude has been an inspiration for his teammates, and for people like Nick Saban and Clay Matthews, who have sent him memorabilia.
