The Los Angeles Rams’ trade of linebacker Alec Ogletree seemed to flummox their franchise back just as much as it did the rest of us.
Ogletree was dealt to the New York Giants on Wednesday for two picks in the 2018 draft (a fourth-rounder and a sixth-rounder), per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Within minutes of Schefter’s report, Rams running back Todd Gurley sent a cryptic tweet, appearing to react to the news with two angry-face emojis.

The trade of Ogletree was definitely surprising — he had been a reliable presence in the middle of the field for the Rams for years and is still just 26 years old. He also signed a four-year extension with the team just last October.
As for Gurley, he had been teammates with Ogletree for his entire NFL career and even for a brief period at the University of Georgia, where they both went to college. Thus, it’s easy to see why the All-Pro back, who has never had a problem with making his feelings known, may not be thrilled about the move.
