Tom Brady has spoken with Patriots despite free agency questions
Tom Brady’s free agency status is the biggest story of the NFL offseason. There have been numerous questions about whether he will remain with the New England Patriots or sign elsewhere, but there is some good news for Patriots fans.
Brady said in an interview with Westwood One’s Jim Gray that he has spoken with the Patriots.
“Yeah, I have. Yep. I am not going to elaborate much more than that, but yes, I have. I think that is a pretty normal thing for me. Again, these are people who have been a part of my life for a very long time,” Brady said.
That is a good sign for Patriots fans. If he weren’t on speaking terms with the team, that would be a major concern and indication he is seriously looking to leave. Talking with the team means he has some interest in working things out.
The Patriots are willing to pay Brady, but the question is: for how many years? Brady wants to keep playing for many more seasons, and he wants more offensive weapons around him. Will the Patriots make those commitments to him? That will likely determine whether he returns to the team.
