Credit Tom Savage for at least being magnanimous before the Houston Texans’ quarterback competition begins.
Deshaun Watson revealed during his introductory press conference on Friday that Savage is the first Texans player he heard from upon being drafted by the team.

The Texans traded up to the Cleveland Browns’ No. 12 spot in order to take the former Clemson QB. He will immediately step in and compete with Savage for the starting job. Savage started two games for the Texans last season and was promoted to starter after Brock Osweiler was traded to the Browns. Now another trade with Cleveland has resulted in some more changes at the quarterback position for the Texans.
