Travis Kelce rips Justin Tucker for breaking ‘unwritten rule’

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker may have found humor in the situation that took place during pregame warmups of the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, but Travis Kelce still is not laughing.

Tucker and Kelce had a tense interaction before the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Ravens 17-10 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md. A video that went viral showed the star tight end taking Tucker’s helmet and kicking balls and tossing them aside because Tucker was apparently stretching where Patrick Mahomes needed to warm up.

Tucker was asked on Monday about the situation. He downplayed it as a “silly” disagreement that was “all in good fun.” Kelce did not view it that way.

Kelce ripped Tucker during the latest episode of the tight end’s “New Heights” podcast, which was released on Wednesday. Kelce said Tucker broke an “unwritten rule” and was being a “f—ing d–k.”

“If you’re trying to go onto the other team’s designated area, you kind of stay out of their way. You don’t interfere with what they have going on. That’s the unwritten rule,” Kelce said, as transcribed by Doric Sam of Bleacher Report. “If you want to be a f–king d–k about it, you keep your helmet and your football and your f—ing kicking tee right where the quarterbacks are warming up. … Like, if you’re not gonna pick that up, I’ll happily move that for you.”

Kelce added that he heard what Tucker said on Monday about the two players engaging in some fun “gamesmanship,” but the tight end and quarterback were not “in a joking mood” before the big game, according to Kelce.

“Justin, sorry if we took it to a level that you didn’t think it would get to, but if you’re gonna be a d—, I promise you I can one-up you every time, dude,” Kelce said.

Tucker may have been trying to annoy Kelce and Mahomes, but the antics certainly did not throw the Chiefs stars off their game. Kelce finished with 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown, while Mahomes went 30/39 for 241 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.
