Tyreek Hill blasts ‘nasty’ Patriots fans after Dolphins win
Tyreek Hill has little love lost for New England Patriots fans. The Miami Dolphins wide receiver embodied that in both words and actions in Foxborough, Mass. on Sunday.
Hill’s Dolphins survived a late scare in Gillette Stadium after a desperation lateral play nearly extended a late Patriots drive. After the 24-17 Dolphins win, Hill was seen waving goodbye to the fans as they headed for the exits.
Hill was later asked by reporters in the locker room about the gesture. The Dolphins wideout called Patriots supporters the “worst fans in the NFL” and hinted at some of the vitriol that was said against him that evening.
“Those fans are some of the worst fans in the NFL, and I’m going to stand on that,” said Hill. “They’re real nasty. Some of the things they were saying, I wouldn’t say in church. It felt great to wave goodbye to the fans, and I’ll do it again. Bye.”
It’s far from the first time that Hill has taunted Patriots fans in Gillette Stadium. Hill has had a long, checkered history with Patriots fans dating back to the early years of his NFL career.
Hill owns a career win-loss record of 5-2 when facing the Patriots throughout his career. His 40 receiving yards on Sunday was actually his lowest total against New England for his career. But he did record one of Miami’s three touchdowns on the night to help them win by one score.
